How I work
Eating disorders thrive in secrecy and perfectionism, so the first goal of therapy is to make it safe to talk honestly about what’s going on. Early on, we’ll get a clear picture of your history, your current symptoms, and what you want your life to look like. From there, we build a treatment plan together, and you stay in the driver’s seat. Sessions are structured but flexible. Some weeks will focus on practical skills, like challenging food rules, interrupting urges, and tolerating hard emotions. Other weeks will go deeper into the experiences, relationships, and beliefs that keep the eating disorder in place. I work in coordination with your physician, dietitian, and psychiatrist when needed, because the best outcomes come from a team that communicates.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Spot the thought patterns that keep you stuck, and practice new ones.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)Skills for big emotions, distress and relationships.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)Make room for hard feelings while you move toward what matters to you.
